Frequently Asked Questions

What teaware do I need to start?

Begin with a brewer you can control and cups that hold the amount it pours. Add accessories for a specific job instead of buying a large set by default. Our small gongfu setup guide explains the pieces; the gaiwan versus teapot guide helps with the main choice.

Does a listed 100 mL capacity mean a 100 mL serving?

Do not assume so. Ask whether the listed capacity is a brim-full measurement or a working fill, and allow room for the tea and controlled pouring. Match cups to the amount you actually decant. Our gaiwan size guide and cup size guide work through that decision.

Do I need both a pitcher and a strainer?

They do different jobs. A pitcher receives the infusion before you divide it between cups; a strainer catches leaf pieces during the pour. Decide whether you need either for your setup. Our pitcher guide covers capacity, while the strainer guide covers filtration and fit.

Have the teaware reviews been personally tested?

No. The reviews use merchant documentation and original customer feedback. They do not claim hands-on handling tests; uncertain capacities and other specification conflicts remain explicit. Read the About page for the editorial method before treating a recommendation as a tested performance result.
